Privacy Policy

Account information. Name, email address, password (stored hashed), profile photo, bio, and optional verification details (such as .edu email signals or LinkedIn URL you provide).

Study preferences. Exam subjects, availability windows, timezone, target exam date, and similar matching inputs.

Usage & matching data. Swipes (like/pass), matches, messages, study session proposals (including optional Meet/Zoom links you add), and in-app notifications.

Billing. Subscription status and related records. Payment card details are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on Skratch servers.

Sign-in providers. If you use Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information Google shares with us (such as name, email, and profile image), subject to your Google settings.

Technical data. Standard logs such as IP address, device/browser type, and approximate usage timestamps may be collected by our hosting providers to operate and secure the Service.

We share information only as needed to run Skratch, including:

• Other users — profile details you choose to show, shared exams, and content you send in matches/chat/sessions
• Service providers — hosting, database, email delivery, analytics (if enabled), and Stripe for payments
• Legal / safety — when required by law or to protect users and the Service

We do not sell your personal information.

We keep account and Service data while your account is active and as needed for legitimate business, legal, and security purposes. You may request deletion of your account; some records (for example billing or fraud logs) may be retained as required by law or for legitimate interests.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information (such as hashed passwords and HTTPS in production). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

• Update profile and study preferences in the app
• Manage or cancel subscriptions via the billing portal when available
• Disconnect Google access through your Google account settings
• Request account deletion or data access by contacting us

Skratch is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

If you access Skratch from outside the country where our servers or operators are located, your information may be processed in other countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required, we will take steps to protect transfers appropriately.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The effective date at the top will change when we post updates. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy, except where additional consent is required by law.
